From the Illustrated London News, July 4, 1868
The twenty-fourth anniversary of the Asylum for Fatherless Children, at
Reedham, founded in 1844 by the late Rev. Andrew Reed, D.D., was celebrated,
on Tuesday, at the asylum. The arrangements of the day were admirably
carried out by the committee, under the immediate direction of the Rev. T.
Aveling, hon. sec. About £400, including £100 by Mr. Charles
Jupe, was subscribed towards the expense of enlarging the institution. |
