Aylesbury Workhouse

Following the Poor Law Amendment Act 1834 Aylesbury Union was declared 13th June 1835. The Union comprised the parishes of Ashendon, Aston Abbots, Aston Clinton, Aston Sandford, Aylesbury, Bierton with Broughton, Buckland, Chearsley, Choulesbury, Creslow, Cublington, Cuddington, Dinton, Drayton Beauchamp, Fleet Marston, Grendon Underwood, Haddenham, Halton, Hardwicke, Hartwell, Hawridge, Hulcott, Ludgershall, Nether Wichendon, Oving, Pitchcott, Quainton, Quarrendon, Stone, Upper Wichendon, Waddesdon, Weston Turville, Whitchurch, Wingrave-with-Rowsham and Wotton Underwood.

The Workhouse was erected 1844 from designs by S. O. Foden, architect.
