Birkenhead Poor Law Union Workhouse
Birkenhead Poor Law Union was declared 4 March 1861 having previously comprised
part of the Wirrall Poor Law Union.
The Infirmary was built in 1863 and became St Catherine's Hospital under the
National Health Service.
